POWERBAR CHOOSE GVS TO DEVELOP BRAND NEW VENDING CONCEPT

Leading vending service provider GVS has been chosen by worldwide leading sports nutrition specialist PowerBar to develop a concept vending machine to provide a wide range of its high-energy food and drink products to leisure centres and gyms.

Over the past 6 months, GVS Regional Service Manager Mike Paul has been working closely with Vera Wichman, Channel Manager from Powerbar to test the AP113 machines, manufactured by Automatic Products, with Powerbar products. GVS has years of experience in supporting brands and has worked extensively with the Automatic Products equipment giving Powerbar total peace of mind from a service perspective.

The machine has been branded with graphics designed by Powerbar and produced by Regency Design.  “I don’t think I could overstate how delighted Powerbar were with the finished article,” commented Mike Paul.  “They were amazed with the quality of refurbishment and thought the machine looked brand new.”  The simple, stylish design of the graphic panels allows them to fit in many different environments and with any décor whilst still remaining appealing and eye-catching to consumers.

The layout of the machines was determined after thorough product testing carried out at GVS’s head office in Smallfield, Surrey.  Most of the products in Powerbar’s range can be successfully vended however a couple were rejected as unsuitable at the testing stage.  The range includes Powerbar Performance and Protein Plus bars and various ready to drink solutions like Powerbar Fit`n Lite L-Carnitin drink.  With some gyms currently experiencing rises of up to 20% in secondary food and drink spend per month, Powerbar is set to fit perfectly in line with consumer trends and maximise the success of the project.
